Municipal Investment Pool

The State of Kansas offers a local government investment pool entitled State of Kansas Municipal Investment Pool (MIP), which is a voluntary investment alternative for municipalities in the state of Kansas and is governed by the State of Kansas Pooled Money Investment Board (PMIB).  Funds must first be offered to all eligible banks, savings and loan, and federally charted savings banks which have home offices or branches in the investing community.  If the financial institutions will not match or exceed the statutory investment rates, municipalities may invest in the Municipal Investment Pool.
